Animal Shelter Sees 12 Adoptions Last Week of February

As of Feb. 28, the total intake for 2025 for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stands at 245: 128 dogs and 117 cats in need. There are 77 animals in care: 62 dogs and 15 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to a rescue partner.

The animal shelter offers a discount voucher program to the citizens of Fayette County for the spay or neuter of family pets as well as a microchip special for Fayette County pets. A microchip increases the chances of being reunited with your pet by 73%. Call (979) 966-0021 for more information.
