Animal Shelter Offers Spay and Neuter Program

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The adoption fee for any dog or cat is $80 and includes: spay or neuter when age/appropriate, age-appropriate vaccines while in care, rabies vaccine, and a microchip - a $250-$300 value.

As of May 29, the total 2026 intake is 579: 265 dogs and 314 cats in need. There are 112 animals in care: 52 dogs and 60 cats.

The shelter is always looking for dog walkers, kitten cuddlers, laundry washers, and puppy bathers.
