Anchor Club Trick-or-Treating For the County Animal Shelter
The Anchor Club of La Grange is sponsoring a month of “Trick or Treating” for Fayette County’s Furry Friends, from Oct. 14-Nov. 11. Donation boxes are set up at Fayette County Vet Clinic and Welch Veterinary Hospital in La Grange to benefit the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter and AniMeals on Wheels, the companion program to Combine Community Action’s Meals on Wheels (addresses the nutrition needs of our community’s homebound citizens). What’s needed? Wet and dry food for dogs and cats (suggested brands include Pedigree, 9 Lives, Meow Mix), treats, kitten food, collars, and specifically for the Shelter: laundry detergent, bleach, paper towels. Pictured above setting up the donation station at Fayette County Vet Clinic are (from left) Karen Walpole, CCA AniMeals on Wheels Rep; Brenda Rainosek, Anchor Club Advisor; Devon Stevens, Gardenia Animal Shelter Rep.; Dr. Jeremy Finch, DVM and Chairman of the Board, CCA; and Anchor Club members Mark Sabo, Mitchell Cervantez, Natalia Soto, and Jessica Torres.
