American Legion Unit 102 Scholarships Awarded
American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit 102 Scholarship Awards were presented to four deserving La Grange High School seniors. Children or grandchildren of veterans are eligible for the $500 scholarship award.
Recipient of the Loretta Brugger Memorial Scholarship was Hudson Corn son of veteran Shane Corn. Three other $500 Scholarships were awarded to Bradyn Prasek, grandson of veteran Roy C. Lasyone, Jr.; Cordale Knapik, grandson of veteran Wallace Greebon; and Autumn Wolf, daughter of veteran Frank Lee Wolf.
At the monthly meeting of the ALA and American Legion Post 102, the students and their families were honored with a dinner and awards ceremony. Joining for the ceremony was Pam Read, daughter of Loretta Brugger.
The American Legion Auxiliary meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the VFW Post Home located at 500 Veterans Memorial Drive in La Grange. Visitors and family members of veterans are always welcome; please join for a meal and learn more about upcoming service programs focusing on local veterans.
