American Legion Quade-Werchan No. 338 Participates in RT-C Education Fundraiser
The American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary participated in the Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation ‘Small Town, Big Hearts Fundraiser’ held on Feb. 5. During the event the post presented a check to the foundation in the amount of $1,500.
For the past seven years the post has partnered with the Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation to support their efforts. During this time the post has contributed a total of $12,000 to the organization in support of the school district and their students. The post’s donations have been used to purchase new musical instruments for the band program, as well as needs related to laptop computers and whiteboards. The post donation in 2021 was made in memory of Glenn Fox, the Post’s Commander from 2015-2017, who was a long-time volunteer in helping elementary students learn to read. This donation allowed the high school librarian to purchase numerous books and publications needed by the school.
American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 meets the first Thursday of each month at their hall located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. Meetings begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
