AMEN Serves Over 300 Families in September
The AMEN Food Pantry continues to serve large numbers. The call for assistance from the community to assist with providing food was excellent and thanks to all that assisted with the food shortage.
Items in need are the following: pork and beans, ranch style beans, oatmeal, pineapples, peaches, stew, canned chicken, dumplings, canned salmon, hamburger helper, saltine crackers, green beans, and corn.
A total of 384 families were served for the month for a total of 1161 individuals. A total of 208 volunteers for 669 hours served the pantry. A total of 8,283 pounds of food were donated. The impact of inflation has brought more individuals to require food.
AMEN will have staff on location to receive donations every Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon. Drive to the side of the building at the garage door area. There will not be any food distribution on Thursday. If possible, bring your produce during this time and early Monday mornings, an ideal time is 8:30 a.m.
AMEN appreciates all in the community for their assistance at the food pantry. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 571, La Grange, Texas 78945.
