AMEN Receives Reusable Bags From Local Businesses
Representatives from the La Grange community joined AMEN Food Pantry’s movement to transition from using harmful single use plastic bags to more sustainable reusable bags for clients’ food selections. This change significantly reduces landfill waste, reduces pollution, and is an assurance of keeping Fayette County an environmentally friendly place for local citizens to call home.
Individuals, churches, organizations, and businesses who would like to donate new, gently used, clean reusable grocery/shopping bags may drop off donations at the AMEN pantry located at 851 S. Reynolds Street in La Grange on Monday from 8:30 a.m. - noon or Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon. The public may also contact Linda Oltmann, (979) 966-3086 or Mary Vasek, (979) 540-9622 for donation pick up.
The food pantry continues to serve our community’s food insecure families with shelf stable food along with fresh vegetables, bread products, and frozen meats with the generous support of the community.
