AMEN Appreciates Community Support

AMEN appreciates all in the community that provided food assistance for the month of March. This would include all that provided monetary donations, food drives and the AMEN Gardens. The gardeners have been providing beets, kale, carrots and many other leafy vegetables.

If interested in how to grow a garden, on Saturday April 12 at 9 a.m. at 6410 West Old Plum Rd. there will be a clinic.

A recap for the month provides the following statistics. 345 families were served, which represented 1,026 individuals served. Donated food was 6,307 pounds. The number of volunteers was 218 for a total of 858 hours.

The impact of your generous donations provided this need. The AMEN board and volunteers say thank you. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 571 La Grange, Texas 78945. Also you can go to the website www.amenlagrange.org and make a donation thru the link provided. You can also follow AMEN on Facebook listed Area Ministries of Emergency Needs.

AMEN wants to become greener and reduce the number of plastic bags used to accommodate shopping. We are asking the community if they have any reuseable shopping bags to donate to the pantry. The bags can be dropped off on Monday and/or Thursday during business hours.

The pantry is open to provide products on Monday 9 a.m. - noon and open on Thursday for drop off 10 a.m.12 noon.
