Amazing Summer Ahead at Festival Hill

Round Top Festival Hill invites you to attend one of the most unique performances you’ll ever experience. On Friday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Festival Hill Concert Hall, Soundpainter Drew Pattison will lead the Soundpainting Ensemble using a series of physical gestures, guiding musicians to create improvised music in real time. You’ll be amazed as spontaneous sounds and textures come together to form a musical tapestry that will only ever be heard once before it disappears into the air. Festival Hill is one of the only places in the nation presenting Soundpainting, making this a truly special event you won’t want to miss. This concert is free and open to the public; doors open at 7 p.m.

The Young Persons Concert at the Festival Hill Concert Hall will take place on June 16 at 11 a.m., featuring Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns and Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev, conducted by Emilio Colón and narrated by James VanDemark. It’s always a fun and engaging experience, and one of the highlights is what happens after the performance. Audience members are invited onto the stage to meet the students, learn about the music, and get an up-close look at their instruments. This hands-on experience makes the concert especially meaningful for all ages, from kids to grandparents. It’s also a wonderful reminder of how music nourishes the mind, body, and spirit. This concert is free and open to the public; doors open at 10 a.m. Be sure to follow Round Top Festival Institute on Facebook and Instagram for updates and behind-thescenes highlights.
