Adventurous Skunk Invades Tractor Supply
The staff at Tractor Supply in La Grange called police last Wednesday after an unwanted guest walked through the door - a skunk.
Officer Steven Haynie arrived shortly after 10 a.m. on July 10. He helped the staff chase it out of the store. But then two hours later, the stinky critter came back.
“It sprayed in there, and the employees said it was pretty strong,” said La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath The City’s animal control officer happened to be on leave that day. So this time, police called for assistance from their old co-worker, Dean Ahlschlager, who retired from the city earlier this year. Ahlschlager now works as a part-time animal control officer for Fayette County. He set a trap inside the store.
The trap caught the skunk overnight. Gilbreath said the employees released it outside of town the next day. In other news from the wild, the staff at Texas One Stop called police early Sunday morning, July 14, to report a snake inside the store. Officer John Wostarek arrived around 4:45 a.m. Wostarek searched for the snake, but he was unable to find it.
