A woman and a child suffered minor injuries in a four vehicle pile-up on US 77 north of La Grange Monday afternoon, Sept. 8.

The wreck happened around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of US 77 and Rabbs Prairie Rd. just north of Ray’s Crane Service. A gray Honda Fit hatchback facing north was stopped and attempted to turn left onto Rabbs Prairie Rd.

A white Chevy one-ton pickup with a utility bed was heading north behind the Honda. The driver slammed on the brakes but was unable to stop before hitting the Honda. A silver Chevy pickup following behind suffered major damage when it slammed into the bed of the white Chevy. A fourth vehicle, a white Ford fourdoor pickup, struck the rear of the silver Chevy.

Fayette County EMS responded and treated two people at the scene – a woman and child who were in the silver Chevy. They declined hospital transport. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and La Grange Volunteer Fire Department responded and assisted with traffic control. Texas Department of Transportation investigated the crash. Their report was not available in time for this publication. First responders closed traffic to one lane while emergency workers cleared the wreckage.
