2022 Turtle Wing Toast Event was a Big Success
The 2022 Turtle Wing Foundation Toast was a success as supporters of the foundation gathered in celebration of all of the wonderful things accomplished over the past year.
This year’s theme of “Capturing Hearts” was introduced, and a special program with testimonials from Turtle Wing individuals, families, volunteers, and providers were given during the “I Am” program. Also introduced was the Founder’s Circle consisting of all of the founding and previous board members of the foundation. We are truly grateful for their past and continued commitment.
Turtle Wing’s theme for the year is “Capturing Hearts”. Beginning with the Heart of Turtle Wing, Jack Hooper, his story and why Turtle Wing exists today. Jack is the son of DeeAnn and Chris Hooper. He was diagnosed with high functioning autism and after he passed away suddenly at the age of nine, God put it on DeeAnn’s heart to start a non-profit to help individuals & families who struggle with learning challenges. Turtle Wing Foundation is now in its 11th year and they continue to “capture hearts.” Turtle Wing directly serves over 300 individuals annually, there are over 600 families in their parent support network, they have 14 providers and facilitate monthly training opportunities for teachers, daycare workers and caregivers. The “I Am” program at the Toast showcased the variety of individuals Turtle Wing impacts and beautifully expressed how each of them is a piece of the Heart of Turtle Wing.
