An 18-wheeler rolled on its side after swerving to avoid a head-on collision on SH 237 near Hills Rd. last Tuesday.

An 18-wheeler ran off SH 237 and crashed north of Round Top on Tuesday, Oct. 1, while trying to avoid a head-on collision.

A report from Trooper Louis Gabler with the Texas Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 10:39 a.m. near the intersection of SH 237 and Hills Rd. Ho Pril, 51 of Conyers, Georgia, was driving a white 2007 Freightliner truck tractor pulling a trailer. The rig was heading south of SH 237.

The report said a white Honda Accord was heading north on the highway when in entered the southbound lane. Pril swerved to the right to avoid a collision. The tires of the 18-wheeler dropped off the edge of the road, causing the load to shift in the trailer. The trailer began rolling on its right side, which caused the truck-tractor to also roll on its right side. The rig slid a short distance before crashing into a stop sign and a wooded fence.

No one was injured.
