To the Editor: In response to the letter last week, “Hold SCOTUS Accountable,” where are the facts to back up this letter’s accusations? The only thing this letter shows is that it is full of lame stream media talking points and typical propaganda and lies the left loves to push as truth. How has the Supreme Court of the U.S.

When I was ten I rode my bike fast around the neighborhood with my year younger sister on the handlebars, carried her up and down the stairs on my shoulders, squashed ‘stink’ bugs in our basement, and cared nothing about wisdom. When I was twenty I dated boys, danced to the ‘twist’, enjoyed rock and roll, began a career in journalism, married and divorced twice, and wondered about wisdom.

To the Editor: President Trump is currently being indicted by highly partisan Democratic prosecutors in courts around the country. The prosecutors could have indicted Trump back in 2021 when he left office, but they purposefully waited until an election year for maximum political impact.

Hospital Center of Excellence (HCOE) has failed to obtain adequate funding commitments to save St. Mark’s Medical Center (SMMC). In June, HCOE signed a term sheet with SMMC that laid out specific terms that both SMMC and HCOE would meet, including bringing $8.5 million in private funding, to complete a change in management that HCOE believed would be necessary to change the trajectory of SMMC. HCOE did not enter into that agreement lightly. Prior to executing the agreement several members of HCOE met with high-net-worth residents of Lee and Fayette Counties, and based on those conversations, honestly believed that if an operational plan was established with a credible work out strategy and business plan, residents of Fayette County would work with HCOE to bring the needed working capital. Sam Wilson, Chief Strategy Officer says, “We were wrong in that belief.”

C An unprecedented number of child care centers are expected to close across the state as pandemic relief funding ends, the Texas Standard reported. A survey conducted by the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children of about 1,600 child care programs indicated 44% were likely to close their doors without additional funding.

Texans, especially those living along the Rio Grande, were more than curious spectators for the ten-year long bloodbath known as the Mexican Revolution. This is one of the many stories conveyed to me by my favorite uncle, Jerry Kana. He was very comical and always told me jokes and funny stories. Whether the following story carries any truth to it, I cannot verify, but I feel it is worth repeating.

To the Editor: In Fayette County, Texas, and in America, we value our freedoms. But a powerful few have always tried rigging the rules, claiming the wealth our work creates.

To the Editor: County Judge Dan Mueller did something unthinkable this week. As a locally elected politician he actually told the truth.
