Jump-A-Thon Contest Held at La Grange Elementary

The local non-profit Fayette County Helpers (FCH) held its annual Jump A-Thon jump rope contest at La Grange Elementary School on Friday morning, March 7. FCH volunteer Jeff Kelly, Sr., started the contest more than 10 years ago as a way of encouraging local second graders to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle.

• The La Grange varsity baseball team lost all three games at their home tournament last week in close decisions. The Leps lost to Sealy on Thursday 6-3 despite a threehit day from Max Dixon and two hits from Tristan Ulrich.

LG’s Guevara Heading to State in Powerlifting

The La Grange High School boys powerlifting team competed at the regional powerlifting meet in Navasota last week. Junior Erick Guevara is headed to the state powerlifting meet after placing second in the 242-pound weight class.

Flatonia Bashes Moulton 13-1

The Flatonia softball team bashed Moulton 13-1 Tuesday. Brynlee Zimmerman, Jalee Trussell, Kara Croyle and Blakely Richter all had multi-hit games for the Lady Bulldogs.
