Adler Goehring recently signed to play football at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, where he will play middle linebacker. “While he currently attends Burnet High School, Fayette County has always been a meaningful place to our family. Adler actually began his football career playing pee wee football in La Grange, and much of our extended family still calls the area home,” said Adler dad’s Clay Goehring, a former finance director at La Grange ISD. Shown here is a photo of Adler’s signing day that includes several family members with Fayette County ties.
After their first round bye in the opening round of the 1A playoffs, the Fayetteville baseball team (7-5) will play a one-gamer to decide the Area title against D’Hanis (12-2) Thursday at 7 p.m. at Joe Gulley Park in Kenedy. These two teams have met numerous times in the baseball playoffs over the years – often in the regional finals. The Lions won a playoff warm-up last week versus Medina 15-5. Jack Schley homered. Kandon Kaspar and Dylan Henneke each had two hits in that game.
