The Flatonia Bulldog baseball team claimed a Bi-District title over the Stockdale Brahmas last weekend by virtue of a 10-0 and 11-1 series sweep. This best of three series was played in Hallettsville on May 2 and 3.
Burton Powers His Way to State Gold

Last year Flatonia’s Kobe Burton placed second in state in the shot put. He said the runner-up finish fueled him for an entire year, and Friday Burton got his gold, winning the state 2A boys shot put title with a throw of 55-feet, 5.75-inches.
Austen Diggs Caps LHS Career With Two State Sprint Silvers

La Grange senior Austen Diggs had never run faster – and it earned him a pair of state silver medals Thursday at the state track meet. In the 100 meters Diggs ran a 10.43, just three hundredths of a second behind winner Will Henderson of Gilmer.

Fayetteville Sophomore Medals at State Track, Pitches Complete Game in Playoffs Fayetteville’s Jack Schley has had a pretty good last few days. Friday Schley pitched a complete game to help the Lions sweep their playoff series against High Island.
La Grange Baseball Team Marches Into the 2nd Round

The La Grange baseball team had no trouble beating Houston Furr in the first round of the 4A playoffs. The Leps won 11-1, led by a six-inning, five-hit gem from pitcher Brock Loehr.
Magliolo Wins Third State High Jump Medal

Meredith Magliolo now has a state high jump medal of every color. As a sophomore she won silver, last year she won gold and Friday she tied for third to grab bronze, clearing five-foot, four-inches.
