The Flatonia football team nearly snapped its losing streak, but Danbury had other ideas. Danbury scored a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter Friday to beat the Bulldogs 12-10 and send Flatonia to its sixth consecutive loss.

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team won its district opener Friday, beating Prairie Lea 25-7, 25-5, 25-20. The Cubettes overall record is now 18-18, and their district record is 1-0.

Here are the District 29-1A Cross Country Results from the meet last Thursday. The Round Top-Carmine girls team won the district title and Fayetteville’s Saige Gasaway won the individual girls title, and the RTC boys were third.

The Schulenburg volleyball team staged a big comeback Saturday to beat Flatonia in five sets. The Lady Horns lost the first two sets 18-25 and 21-25, but then bounced back to win the final three sets 25-10, 2513, 15-11.

La Grange native J.K. Dobbins had another big game Sunday for the Los Angeles Chargers, rushing for 96 yards and a touchdowns as they beat the Denver Bronocs 23-16..

The La Grange volleyball team hit the halfway mark of district play on a high note. The Lady Leps bashed Navasota 25-10, 25-19, 2517 Friday at home to snap a three-match losing streak and improve to 10-24 overall and 2-3 in district play.
