The La Grange volleyball team hit the halfway mark of district play on a high note.

The Lady Leps bashed Navasota 25-10, 25-19, 2517 Friday at home to snap a three-match losing streak and improve to 10-24 overall and 2-3 in district play.

“We played some pretty clean ball,” said head coach Leslie Coltrain of Friday’s victory. “We’ve really been focusing on cleaning up our hitting errors, and I think that really paid off tonight.”

Carley Ulrich led the Lady Leps in kills with 15 and Avery Griffin had 14.

Ulrich also led in digs with 16 and Griffin had 12.

Kylie Trlicek led in aces with four and assists with 41.

Brion Williams and Kenna Lamza each had three blocks.

The Lady Leps now find themselves in a three-way tie for third place with five matches left in the regular season.

“They got their eyes opened after the first round of district play,” Coltrain said of her relatively young squad. “Nothing’s given on any given night. You have to show up and play and bring your ‘A’ game every night.”

That second half of district play begins for La Grange Tuesday at home at 6 p.m. against Smithville.

The Lady Leps beat the Lady Tigers in five sets three weeks ago.
