Recaps The La Grange Middle school football teams went on the road last week to Rockdale. All four teams were in action, and came home with three wins and a tie.

The La Grange High School girls cross country team competed in the UIL 4-A District 22 cross country meet Monday Oct. 7 in Caldwell, held at the Don J Hejl Park at Davidson Creek.

Schulenburg senior Ruby Rodriguez ran to a cross country district title Monday in Shiner at the District 28-2A meet with a time of 13:16.06 in the two-mile course. She now advances to the regional meet in Corpus Christi Oct. 21.

The La Grange boys varsity cross country team was fifth at the district meet Monday in Caldwell. Varsity runners for La Grange and their places were: 9.

The La Grange Team Tennis squad played in the school’s first ever playoff match on Monday against District 24 top seed Caldwell. Many La Grange players played their best tennis of the year and all competed remarkably, but in the end the team fell 0-10 to an outstanding Caldwell unit.

The Flatonia football team fell to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in district with a 52-21 loss to Bloomington Friday. Flatonia Beck’s Zimmerman threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns to Keegan Green and Kade Giese, and Caysen Perez ran for a touchdown but it was not enough to overcome Bloomington’s powerful rushing attack.
