Fritsch Earns Masters From A&M

Blake-Ann Fritsch graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Agriculture Leadership, Education and Communications (ALEC). on May 12. She also received certification in Leadership, Education, Theory and Practice. Blake-Ann is a member of the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society. She was a 2016 graduate from La Grange High School. Blake-Ann is the daughter of Doug and Holly Fritsch of La Grange.

LCRA OFFERING GRANTS UP TO $50,000 FOR ELIGIBLE COMMUNITY PROJECTS

The Lower Colorado River Authority is offering grants of up to $50,000 for community projects throughout LCRA’s wholesale power, water and transmission service areas. Applications for Community Development Partnership Program grants will be available online in July and must be submitted by midnight on July 31.

LHS Class of 1957 has 65th Reunion

The La Grange High School Class of 1957 celebrated their 65th class reunion at Sealand Restaurant in La Grange from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 18. The La Grange High School graduating class of 1957 held their first reunion in 1967 and has been meeting every five years since the 10th year reunion. Upon arrival each classmate signed in and was given a name tag. A short moment of silence was held for the eight classmates that departed since last reunion in 2017. Out of a total of 60 graduates, there 35 remaining and 13 of those helped to celebrate this momentous occasion along with five spouses. A short business meeting was held. Each classmate gave an update about themselves. Responses from those not attending were read by Harold Mueller. It was decided that a class reunion will be held every year. Next reunion will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023. A class picture was taken and then a delicious meal was served. A pleasurable visitation was enjoyed by all. LHS Class of 1957 has 65th Reunion

Jasek-Zatopek Reunion Set for July 17 in Ellinger

Members of the Jasek and Zatopek families will gather Sunday, July 17, for their annual reunion in Fayette County. The reunion begins with a mass at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville and moves to St. Mary’s Parish Hall near Ellinger for a potluck lunch, family history activities, and socializing.

Retired Teachers Enjoy Field Trip, Install Officers

On June 13, the Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association visited the Busted Oak Winery in Carmine. Fourteen were in attendance, along with Gene Stokes, President of District 13 Retired Teachers Association. He led the installation of the following officers: Lisa Slinkard, President; Melanie Mica, lst Vice-President; Kathy Migl and Debbie Morrill, 2nd Vice-Presidents; Karen Fitch, Secretary; Nancy Pietsch, Treasurer.
