Retired Teachers Enjoy Field Trip, Install Officers

On June 13, the Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association visited the Busted Oak Winery in Carmine. Fourteen were in attendance, along with Gene Stokes, President of District 13 Retired Teachers Association. He led the installation of the following officers: Lisa Slinkard, President; Melanie Mica, lst Vice-President; Kathy Migl and Debbie Morrill, 2nd Vice-Presidents; Karen Fitch, Secretary; Nancy Pietsch, Treasurer.

Also installed were the following committee chairs: Debbie Morrill, Member Benefits; Information and Protective Services, Kim Joost; Legislation, Karen Fitch; Website, Chris Morrison; Historian, Jeanne Wetjen.

The next regularly-held meeting will be an ice-cream social on Monday, Aug. 22. It will be held at the Fellowship Hall of the First United Meth-odist Church located at 1215 Von Minden in La Grange. All retired public school employees are welcome to attend these meetings, even if retired from another city, county, or state.
