Fourth of July Celebrated in Muldoon

Saturday, July 2, Muldoon celebrated the 4th of July and our nation’s independence. The crowd was smaller than in years past, but this was the first time in three years that Muldoon tried to gather to celebrate Independence Day.

Carmine VFD Firemen’s Feast this Sunday, July 17

It’s just days away when the annual Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held on July 17 at the Carmine Hall. A fried chicken dinner to-go, drive through only will be served from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until sold out. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal. Desserts will also be served for a donation. Tickets for a drawing are available.

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, July 18 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $7.

Casino Hall Assn. Preparing for West Side Story

Casino Arts Association board members are busy creating decorations for the upcoming movie and brunch which they are hosting August 6 at the Historic Casino Hall. The original “West Side Story” is being shown with the Casino Hall doors opening at 10 a.m. The total cost for the movie and brunch is $18. A delicious brunch will offer a variety of salads including chicken, pasta and spinach salads and muffins. The meal will be served to movie goers before the start of the movie.
