Schulenburg Police Issue Several Traffic Tickets
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 26 through July 2 .
Accident
On July 1, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 200 block of Heinrich for a single vehicle accident. A city light pole was damaged and the dispatcher notified.
Animal Complaint
On June 26, Kalina responded to the 300 block of August for a snake on the front porch. Officer located the snake in a crack in the concrete. Officer removed the snake from the crack and found it was dead. Officer relocated the snake and cleared the call.
On July 2, Officer Jacob Mills responded to the 300 block of Kessler for a large dog running loose.
Civil Matter
On June 30, Kalina responded to the 600 block of Upton for a civil matter.
On July 2, Mills spoke with complainant concerning her children.
Disturbance
On June 27, Sgt. Tobey McFadden did a walk through at the basketball tournament in the 300 block of Bucek. Fans and referees were leaving when a male who had been ejected and the referee who ejected him began arguing. Officer advised individuals to get into their vehicle and leave.
On June 29, Kalina responded to the 200 block of College in reference to a group of juveniles causing issued. Officer talked with the individuals and they advised they would follow the rules.
Suspicious Vehicle/Subject
On June 30, Kalina responded to the 1300 block of Lyons in reference to a bright colored vehicle going from house to house. Officer checked the area and was unable to find the vehicle matching the description.
On June 30, Kalina responded to the 14 block of Kessler in reference to a white male with red dreadlocks asking people for drugs. Officer was unable to locate the subject.
Traffic Stop
On June 27, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 14 block of Kessler for a defective tail lamp. Driver issued a warning.
On June 27, Mills stopped a driver in the 1200 block of Kessler for failure to drive in a single lane. Driver issued a warning.
On June 28, Mills stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for defective headlamp. Driver issued a warning.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Kessler for expired registration. A citation was issued.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Kallus for expired registration. A citation was issued.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Paulus for failure to signal the required distance before turning. Driver issued warning.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of College for vehicle turning right too wide. Driver was released with a warning.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of W. Summit for defective stop lamp. Driver released with a warning.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Lyons for wide right turn from James on to Summit. Driver provided an expired drivers license. Citation was released with a citation.
On June 28, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Summit for a defective headlamp. Driver was released with warning for defective headlamp and expired registration.
On July 1, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 14 block of N. Kessler for turning from the wrong lane. Driver received a citation for no insurance.
On July 1, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of N. Kessler for speeding going 82 in a 50 mph zone. Driver received a citation.
On July 1, Officer Byron Powe stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Going 50 in a 35 mph zone. Driver received a warning.
On July 1, Mills stopped a driver in the 500 block of Summit for operating a vehicle without license plate. Driver released with a warning.
On July 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Kessler for defective brake light. Driver received a warning.
On July 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for expired registration. Driver received a citation for no insurance.
On July 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration. Driver issued a warning.
On July 2, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for expired registration. Driver issued a citation.
On July 2, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 500-block of Kessler for not displaying a front license plate. Driver issued a warning.
On July 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 14 block of N. Kessler for failure to signal lane change. Driver received a warning.
On July 2, Mils stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Cardinal for operating a vehicle without registration insignia. Driver issued a citation for unrestrained child.
On July 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 700 block if N. Kessler for no license plate. Driver issued warning.
On July 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Summit for wide right turn. Driver issued a citation for no driver’s license.
On July 2, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a citation for going 45 in 30 mph. zone.
On July 2, Mills stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Kessler for failure to signal at required distance. Citation was issued a citation for unrestrained child.
On July 2, McFadden stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Kessler for license plate not being visible from 50 feet. During the stop the subject did not have insurance card and officer unable to verify insurance on computer. Citation issued for failure to maintain responsibility.
Welfare Check
On June 27, Mills responded to the 200 block of E Anderson for an elderly female having lights out due to storm.
Miscellaneous
On July 1, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler in reference to female individual that had been locked out of the vehicle.
On July 1, McFadden observed a white BMW spinning at the intersection of Summit and Kessler. Officer attempted to catch up to the car but was unable to locate. Officer also observed a female walking away from the car as it spun off. McFadden observed a female walking away from the car. Officer contacted the female at Jack and Mary’s and she would not cooperate or identify herself.
