It’s just days away when the annual Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held on July 17 at the Carmine Hall. A fried chicken dinner to-go, drive through only will be served from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until sold out. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal. Desserts will also be served for a donation. Tickets for a drawing are available.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department will hold their drill night July 14 at 7 p.m.

They remind the public that a burn ban is in effect for Fayette County.

RT-C School News

Round Top-Carmine ISD is opening the waiting list for tuition-based pre-kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. Go online to find the agreement, which needs to be completed and returned if you are interested in this program, or share the form with someone you know who may be interested. Tuition Pre-K students will be placed on the waiting list in the order in which their agreements are received. You will be contacted in the beginning of August with more information on the PK program and your child’s status on the waiting list. There is an email address on the website where the agreement may be sent.

Administration offices both at Carmine and Round Top are open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Waldeck VBS

Waldeck Lutheran Church will have Vacation Bible School July 18-22 from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. The theme is “God’s Wonder Lab.” Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. The closing celebration will be held Friday morning during the regular VBS time with a water slide and ice cream

Classes are available for ages 3-12, but older children willing to serve as helpers would be greatly appreciated. To register, contact Dana Polasek at (979) 966-3862.

Casino Night

Casino Night sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Carmine Hall, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be German themed with an Alpine Band, chicken-fried steak meal, and drinks included.

Tables and individual tickets are available by calling (979) 451-1507. Reserve your spot now because there will be limited admissions.

MLLC News

Church Council meets Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Bible Study group meets Wednesday from 7-8:15 p.m.

WELCA Unit General Meeting is Thursday at 1 p.m. Rebekah Group follows at 2 p.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion observing the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Domino Party meets Monday at 1 p.m. All are welcome.

Recycling Trailer

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Visitors’ Center

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
