LCRA Offering Grants Up to $50,000

The Lower Colorado River Authority is offering grants of up to $50,000 to support first responders and improve local community centers, museums, parks and more. LCRA awards Community Development Partnership Program grants for community projects twice a year to nonprofits such as volunteer fire departments, emergency responders, local governments, schools, libraries, civic groups, museums and other tax-exempt nonprofit organizations.

On Wednesday, July 5, ‘BK Bones’ came to La Grange with a prehistoric presentation for families participating in the library’s summer reading program. BK Bones, also known as Bethany Burke, is a paleontologist with years of experience as an educator, both in the classroom and at camps, in addition to her time in the field of paleontology.

Muldoon’s Karlee Kelly Has Children’s Book Published

A Fayette County native recently released a children’s book. Karlee Kelly, or Charles Higgins if you prefer her pen name, wrote and published “RABBiT.” This book is the story of a young boy named Rabbit who catches petty criminals by pure dumb luck, and his friend, Aubrey, who attempts to prove that Rabbit’s misadventures are more than just coincidence.
