The Shared Lutheran Ministry appreciates La Grange Whataburger, Nick Deters, owner, Curt Harbers, marketing manager, and Carla Mancera, store manager, for the generous donation of 100 each Whataburger reusable bags to Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County (SLM). These bags will be used at the AMEN Food Pantry in November. AMEN distributes food to clients every Monday of the month. Local churches provide the volunteers to distribute the food. Whataburger’s donation of bags will be given to each client coming through the food service line.

Deborah Bradley from the Texas Quilt Museum asked the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild if they could make a couple of Storytime Books with accompanying quilt’s for the Museum’s Storytime Saturday’s.

Sandy Courrier quilted a beautiful quilt piece to accompany a children’s book called “Cheepy and Grandma Mare.” Brigitte Wittmann Mesecke quilted a picture out of the book “Dream Snow.” Both books will be thoroughly enjoyed by all who attend the “Storytime” events at the Texas Quilt Museum.

More than 160 runners finished the Czhilispiel 5K on Saturday morning. The overall winner was Duke Sodek with a time of 19:11.703.
