Senior Connections Plans Trip to Lake Charles, Members Enjoy Tour of Stanzel Museum
Senior Connections is proud to offer a chartered bus trip to Lake Charles. The charter bus overnight trip is on Nov. 9-10, and is now open to the public.
The $200 fee for transportation there and back, will also include lunch on the bus each day. This is what is payable to Senior Connections to secure your seat on the bus.
Once you’ve done this part, then you would secure your room at the Golden Nugget with your credit card, at a negotiated rate, as Amanda secured a block of rooms for our group. So, once you secure your bus seat, you will be provided with a promo code to use when booking your room.
Amanda can help you book your room, if you will just let her know. Your meals and amenities can be charged to your room. You are on your own for entertainment, dinner and breakfast, and there is quite a selection of establishments to choose from.
Senior Connections will be closed over the first weekend in November so that new restroom fixtures can be replaced. The grant recently awarded from Second Chance Emporium was to help fund upgrades that will make the center safer and give a face-lift in certain areas.
If you, or your company, can provide goods and services that will help us with our first high-level community fundraiser, the 2023 New Year’s Eve Heritage Ball, contact Amanda at amanda@srconnections.org.
We still need seven more table sponsors, with a return on investment of high level marketing and recognition, plus each table level comes with a good list of amenities too. Let us see your company name and logo on a table at the Heritage Ball. There will be a lovely meal, a whiskey wall, a dessert dash, a live auction, and then a live band, so there will be some dancing going on. Champagne and fireworks will ring in another new year for us all. All proceeds from table sponsors, ticket sales, live auction participation and quick pick games throughout the night will directly benefit Senior Connections and the programs we provide.
Senior Connections tried something different on Tuesday, Oct. 24. That morning, a group of members attended a tour of the Stanzel Model Airplane Museum in town. They had an awesome time there and then after the tour, they all came by the Center for a light lunch of a slider burgers with fixings, veggies, chips and dessert.
