Slavnost Set For May 19 in La Grange

The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center (TCHCC) in La Grange invites you to a family Sunday Funday filled with music, food, laughter, Czech culture and remembrance during the 23rd Annual Slavnost ‘May Fest’ on May 19. Festivities begin with a recognition ceremony at 10:30 a.m. The Czech Immigrants to Texas will be honored and the stones on the Immigrant Wall will be recognized.

Happy Music For Happy People Event Set May 19

Board members of The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum, located at 275 W. Fairgrounds Rd. in La Grange, within the Czech Village, are excited to invite members and the public to the Second Annual “Happy Music for Happy People” Open House and Event. Renovations and upgrades continue, making this a good time to check them out.

Reverend Winkler Honored In Cistern

Rev. Eddie Winkler was honored with a farewell gathering at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Parish in Cistern on Sunday, April 21. He is being transferred to Hostyn and Plum Parishes on June 1. The social hour, which began at 5 p.m. was followed by a barbecue brisket and chicken meal.

ArtWalk Will Have Fayetteville Hopping

F From the beginning of last summer until January of this year, ARTS puts out a call for artists throughout Texas to feature their works at ArtWalk. The culmination of talented artists that are qualified to answer that call will feature their works at this annual juried art show on the square this weekend.
