Seniors Tour Newman’s Castle in Bellville

Senior Connections April outing was much fun for all who attended. After loading up the Schuber bus driven by Vickie Woodward, members appreciated a beautiful drive through the countryside.

After the recent rain, it was wonderful to see the ponds brimming, the flowers blooming, and greens of every shade. The excursion took seniors to Bellville and Newman’s Bakery for some wonderful pastries. Next up was visiting the amazing castle built by Mike Newman. Sadly, he has recently passed, but his legacy will live on as his nephew takes over soon. The host for the day, Jeff, kept all entertained. Seniors marveled at Mr. Newman’s vision, and his actual execution of that dream.

Members then enjoyed a freshly made sandwich in the dining hall of the castle and visited with the many other curious people on the tour, some from as far away as Canada.
