ArtWalk Will Have Fayetteville Hopping
From the beginning of last summer until January of this year, ARTS puts out a call for artists throughout Texas to feature their works at ArtWalk. The culmination of talented artists that are qualified to answer that call will feature their works at this annual juried art show on the square this weekend. “A juried art show means that every artist we consider for the show has to present to a jury of professionals. The purpose is to make sure the quality of the artists at the show remains at a high level,” stated Development Director Kevin White. “It’s a blind jury. All the work is presented anonymously. The jury includes Aly Winngham, Stephen Henry, Kevin White,Allison Hoffman and Sandra Borne.”
This year, ARTS received a significant number of applicants— more than ever before. 58 artists will have booths featuring paintings, jewelry, sculpture, woodwork and much more. “What’s really exciting is that we have a handful of new artists that are breaking into the art scene in Texas and this will be their debut,” stated White. “These artists are actually introduced to each other in a private Facebook page. At ARTS we are building a strong sense of community and creating a great opportunity for mentorships. You’ll still see many of the old favorites and lots of talented locals.”
Aside from featuring talented fine artists, ArtWalk promises a weekend of great live music. Bring your lawn chair, grab a meal from one of the food trucks on site, or a local restaurant on the square.
