Flatonia Girls Powerlifting competed at the Region 5 meet in Edinburg on Monday 2/28. Guadalupe Mendiola finished first in the 181 lbs. weight class of the 1A/2A division with a total of 1020 lbs. Aubree Mikulenka finished second in the 148 lbs weight class of the 1A/2A division with a total of 705 lbs. Aaliyah Mendez finished fifth in the 123 lbs. weight class of the 1A/2A division with a total of 630 lbs. Guadalupe and Aubree qualified for the Girls State Meet that will be held on March 16th in Corpus Christi.

The Fayette County Helpers held their annual Jump Rope Jump-A-Thon at La Grange Elementary School on Wednesday, March 9. Dozens on second graders gathered in the Elementary Gym to see who could jump rope the longest.

The 20-4A all-district boys basketball team has been released and the Leps, who placed third in district, had several players honored, led junior Jaxon Cooper, who was the Offensive MVP of the district and also academic all-district.

The La Grange girls soccer team beat Cameron 3-1 Tuesday night at Leopard Stadium thanks to a pair of goals scores by Megan Davis and one by Angela Martinez. Shyla Rodriguez and Eleanor Rohan were the defensive players of the game.

The following members of the La Grange powerlifting team will be competing Saturday, March 12 at West Hardin High School in the THSPA Region 4 Division 2 Regional meet. The following were able to qualify by being in the top 12 of their weight class in the region improving as a team, which had no qualifiers last year. They will compete in squat, bench and deadlift with the hopes of placing in the top two and punching a ticket to the state meet. La Grange sprinter Jeremy Sager went through quite the series of events Thursday at the Leopard Relay track meet in La Grange. Sager participated in the 4x400 relay and was tripped during his race, fell and dislocated his shoulder, but he still got up to finish his race in order to help his team finish second place.

Lady Bulldog golf results from the Lady Bulldog Golf Tournament held on Monday March 7th at the Flatonia Golf course: The Flatonia team won first with a combined 464. Jordyn Ponewash was first with a 106, Sarah Ponewash was fourth with a 112, Katelyn Croyle was fifth with a 119 and Braidy Fike and Avalon Saavedra were also on the team.
