Lady Leps Win Regular Season Soccer Finale

The La Grange girls soccer team beat Cameron 3-1 Tuesday night at Leopard Stadium thanks to a pair of goals scores by Megan Davis and one by Angela Martinez. Shyla Rodriguez and Eleanor Rohan were the defensive players of the game.

This was the regular season finale for LG, as the match originally scheduled for March 11 vs. Caldwell was canceled due to Caldwell cancelling its season. With the win, LG girls lock up the #2 seed and await the final standings from District 20 to determine the first round opponent. At this time, a playoff rematch with Navasota is the most likely scenario on either March 24 or 25th.

The Lady Leps overall record stands at 14-4 with a district record of 6-2. Their next match is Tuesday, March 22 vs. Georgetown Gateway Prep (playoff tuneup) – 5:30 p.m. at Leopard Stadium.

The La Grange boys lost at Hearne Tuesday 5-3 on penalty kicks after tying in regulation, 2-2.

Goals were recorded by Jesus Soto and Phillip Arceneaux. The Leps are 9-2 in district and 14-6-2 overall.
