Volleyball Round-Up: Three Local Teams Win Tuesday
The La Grange volleyball team lost at East Bernard Tuesday in four sets 25-20, 14-25, 25-15, 25-16.
Avery Griffin and Brion Williams had eight kills for La Grange, Campbell Cooper had six and Gabby Hollek had five. Williams had three aces. Griffin led in digs with 15, Hollek had 13, Ashtyn Smith 12 and Brooklyn Barber 10. Hollek had 24 assists.
The Lady Leps fell to 11-9 overall with the loss. East Bernard improved to 14-2.
Friday’s La Grange volleyball match has been cancelled. The La Grange play Tuesday at home versus Brazos.
RTC
The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team beat Brazos Valley Tuesday 25-7, 25-21, 25-22.

Fayetteville
The Fayetteville volleyball team defeated Aggieland Home School Tuesday 25-19, 15-25, 25-12, 25-13.
Lainey Gromaski and Cambree Denham each had 10 kills in Tuesday’s match for Fayetteville. Aubree Grateer had six kills. Lilly Aldape and Maycee Miller had five kills each. Scotti Beseda and Emily Keilers each had four aces.
Keilers led in digs with 17, Beseda had 12, Gromaski had 11 and Aldape had 10.
Beseda had 30 assists. Fayetteville is now 8-4 overall.
Flatonia Beats
Schulenburg
The Schulenburg and Flatonia volleyball teams have played some epic matches recently (including in last year’s regional finals, which the Lady Horns won).
Now the two are in different classifications, Schulenburg is 3A and Flatonia stays in 2A, but that doesn’t mean their battles are over. The two tangled over the weekend in pool play at the Schulenburg Tournament with Flatonia winning, and the Lady Bulldogs prevailed over the Lady Horns again Tuesday in an epic match that went five sets. Flatonia won the first two sets 25-20, 25-22 only to see Schulenburg come back to win the next two sets 27-25, 25-20 but Flatonia won the five set 15-12 to improve to 9-10 this season. The Lady Horns are 10-10.
