Bellville High’s Susan Brewer Becomes the Winningest Volleyball Coach in Texas History

The Bellville volleyball team defeated Manor at the Bastrop Tournament over the weekend for head coach Susan Brewer’s 1,306th career win, the most wins in Texas high school volleyball history. With that win over Manor, she passed Barbara Comeaux of Port Neches-Groves (now retired), who had 1305 career wins. Brewer (front row, right above) began coaching in Bellville in 1977. Her 1,306 wins include nine state championships, five state runner-up finishes and 20 regional championships. Brewer, an East Bernard native, has already been inducted into the Texas Girls Coaches Association Hall of Fame and American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
