Fayette Savings Bank Donates to Fayetteville Baseball Association
Fayette Savings Bank (FSB) proudly presented a $10,000 check to the Fayetteville Baseball Alumni Association (FBAA) recently to support continued additions to their baseball facility.
Making the presentation on behalf of FSB to the Association President Josh Vitek were FSB Fayetteville staff Tammy Beseda, Sarah Bertsch and Nicole Davis.
Vitek stated, “the current project underway is construction of three indoor batting cages, complete with artificial turf, netting, and more. The middle cage can be converted into space for players to do drills like fielding grounders, along with mounds for pitchers to practice their craft.”
Fayette Savings Bank opened its banking center in Fayetteville on Feb, 19. Sarah Bertsch, manager says “contributing to the great work the association has done and continues to do at the ballpark fit right into our wheelhouse of supporting our community.” Bertsch continued, “the complex, like our school, offers kids of all ages a top-notch facility to play and practice at. It truly is something the whole community can rally around and be extremely proud of.”
The alumni association was formed in 2021 with the purpose to preserve, maintain, and grow the sport of baseball in Fayetteville. Games have been played on the same patch of ground for generations! All ages have played on the field from Sundays at the ballpark, little league games and tournaments, to the Lions bringing home several state championships.
Volunteer led, 100% of all donations and sponsorships go directly back into the facility to keep the programs going – season after season.
“It’s amazing to see what the association and the community have built and continue to improve upon,” says FSB CEO and President Wade Mozisek. “We purchased a tract of land right across the road from the ballpark with plans to build a new banking center there. So I guess we can say we could be ‘neighbors’ in the future.”
