Davis to Play Football for Blinn

La Grange senior C.J. Davis signed a letter of intent to play football with Blinn College in Brenham. La Grange High School held a signing ceremony for him inside the High School Gym last Friday, May 19.

“It feels good to know that a school was looking at me and wanting me to come and play,” Davis said. “For me, to compete at the next level, it feels great.”

Davis said former La Grange Head Football Coach Matt Kates was instrumental in finding him a spot on the Blinn team.

“(Kates) had hit up one of the football coaches at Blinn,” Davis said. “That’s how I was able to get on. It’s great because I’m not going to have to go out of state to play. I’ll be close to family.’
