RT-C Kindergarten, Pre-K Round Up April 4

Round Top-Carmine Elementary will have a Kindergarten Roundup on April 4, at the elementary school from 5 to 6 p.m. Eligible children who plan to attend Kindergarten and/or Prekindergarten at Round Top-Carmine Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year are invited to attend.

Youngsters Learn Financial Literacy on Trip

Kindergarten students at La Grange Elementary went on a field trip to National Bank and Trust on Tuesday, March 19, for the bank’s annual Penny Pincher program. The staff at NBT taught the students about money and the banking industry.

Optimist Club Easter Carnival Coming to LG March 28-31

Merriam’s Midway Carnival is returning to Fayette County Fairgrounds for Easter Weekend, March 28 - 31, sponsored by The La Grange Optimist Club. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free admission. All-you-can-ride armbands are $20.

Shelter Takes in 40 Animals Last Week

As of March 15, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 289: 171 dogs and 118 cats in need. As of March 15, the shelter has 98 animals in care: 60 dogs/38 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

W Tejas is inviting the community to help them name their new cottages. Their vision is to bring each resident closer to God’s story through the names we choose.

Preserving the Harvest Workshop Set May 11

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office, Fayette County will offer a food preservation workshop called “Preserving the Harvest” on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, La Grange.

St. John-Rutersville to Hold Maundy Thursday Services

Maundy Thursday worship for SLM will be at St. John in Rutersville at 6 p.m. No soup supper. Pastor Jen is presiding. Good Friday worship will be at St. John in Ellinger at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jen presiding. All are welcome. Easter service will be at all four churches at normal times.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Junior Livestock Show 

Egg Hunt This Saturday in Fayetteville

Kids aged up to 12 years old will enjoy candy-filled eggs and a visit from the Easter Bunny at a fun-filled easter egg hunt this Saturday, March 23 at 9 a.m. on the square.
