Schonhoeft Awarded Amanda Knox Memorial Scholarship

The Amanda Knox Memorial Scholarship received applications from four very qualified and deserving young people and had the difficult task of selecting one to be the recipient.
They are proud to announce that the first Amanda Knox Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Benjamin Schonhoeft, an 8th grade student at St. Paul Lutheran school in Serbin.
Prayers for Benjamin and the other applicants as they continue to thrive in their studies and in the love for God and His word as they spend the next four years at Faith Lutheran High School.
Appreciation is extended to all who made this scholarship possible through donations and purchase of raffle tickets.
TWHS Scholarship
The Texas Wendish Heritage Society Scholarship Program is now taking scholarship applications. The Texas Wendish Heritage Society (TWHS) appreciates support given to the scholarship program. All TWHS funds are received through fundraising projects and donations. This scholarship program is available to students of Wendish descent and encourages students to learn more about their Wendish heritage. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school for Fall 2023 semester. Scholarship applications for 2023-2024 are available online at www.texaswendish. org and on the Texas Wendish Facebook Page. The entire process is online and must be submitted digitally by the deadline of 5 p.m. on Saturday July 14, 2023. Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran in Warda on June 12-14 from 5:30-8 p.m. Registration information is on the website at: www.holycrosswarda.com. Vacation Bible School will be held at St. Paul Lutheran in Serbin on June 12-16 from 8:15-11:15 a.m. for grades 3-7. Rainforest Explorers is the theme and the children will learn how Jesus is the ultimate guide in their lives. Registration is available at their website: www.stpaulserbin.org
Camp Lone Star
Camp Lone Star in La Grange Summer Camp Registration is now open. They offer weeklong and weekend programs for ages 5-18 to have an adventurous Christ-centered experience. Pork Steak Dinner
The St. Paul Lutheran Church Adult Fellowship in Serbin is having a BBQ Pork Steak dinner on Sunday, June 18 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Advance tickets only for $12 per plate. Meal is to-go and tickets are available by calling (979) 540-0854 by June 12. All proceeds will go toward future church/school projects.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Starting June 14 Pastor Beck will be leading a new midweek Bible study on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross in the Church Library. In this study, you will learn how to read your Bible….how to really read it. What do we believe about the Bible? How can we understand it? All are welcome to be a part of this conversation.
Faith Lutheran High School Dylan James Schautschick and Kaleb Oltmann graduated from Faith Lutheran High School recently.
The Spring rains resulted in the Faith Lutheran High School golf tournament being postponed. The new date is June 17. Contact the school to participate in this event.
