It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maxine Weinert onAug. 27, 2025. Born on Jan. 11, 1936, in Round Top, Maxine lived a life full of love, strength, and resilience. Her gracious spirit and kind heart were beloved by all who knew her.

Charles James Crawford was born on May 19, 1929, to Cuver and Naomi McCloud in Meadow, Texas. After graduating from Burnet High School, Charles was drafted into the military, where he served in the US Army Signal Corps during the Korean War. Charles returned to Texas and graduated from Blinn College. Charles was employed with San Bernard Electric Cooperative Inc. for 41 years as a Member Service Manager. Charles was a lifetime member of the Bellville VFW Post 6522, Bellville American Legion, and Bellville General Hospital Auxiliary. Charles was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville.

Funeral services for Alois Jaeger, 93, of Giddings, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings, with Rev. John Waak officiating. Entombment followed in the Giddings City Mausoleum.

Benjamin Matthew “Matt” Wyant, 47, of Gonzales, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, Aug. 21, 2025.

Gustavo Orona, 80 years old of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

Wilbert Anton Dvorak, 89, of Lone Oak, passed away on Aug. 30, 2025 in Columbus.

Randy Dale Stork, cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Aug. 29, 2025, at his home in Muldoon. Born on March 6, 1958, in La Grange, Randy’s life was a testament to his love for his family and dedication to his community.

Cindy Lou Davis, 61, of Ledbetter, passed away peacefully on Aug. 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, Larry Gest. Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and laughter touched all who knew her.

Ross Walter “Walt” Raymond Ross Sr., 78 of La Grange and Rockdale, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025 from a Copperhead snake bite.

Edna Mae Krivacka died in La Grange on Aug. 12, 2025, at the age of 90.
