Weigelt
Virginia Margaret Weigelt, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, in Houston.
Virginia was born Aug. 4, 1930 in Round Top. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a faithful Lutheran throughout her life. She graduated from Round Top -Carmine High School as valedictorian in 1947. She began her banking career in 1949 at Round Top State Bank. In 1954 she moved to Houston to join McGregor Park National Bank. She worked in various banks in the area including River Oaks Bank and Trust and Compass Bank until she retired in 1998 after almost 50 years in banking.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ewald and Ellie Schulze Weigelt, her siblings, Edith Klump, Edmund Weigelt, Ethel Mikeska, Herman Weigelt, Eurline Lyman, Marcus Weigelt and nephew Dale Weigelt.
Virginia loved spending time with her large family and celebrating their many accomplishments. She attended birthdays, sports events, graduations, weddings, holiday gatherings and family reunions.
Virginia was a loving aunt to her nephews and nieces, Ronald Klump, Kathleen Noska, Carolyn Springer, Geraldine Cooper, Darrell Weigelt, Jeriann Mikeska, Mariann Nelson, Barbara Parish, Jeanette Shepherd, Denise McHugh, Karen Koerth, Randy Lyman, John Lyman, Donna Rogers, David Weigelt, Lynette Westbrook, and Nathan Weigelt. She was proud of her 34 great-nieces and nephews, 39 great-greats, and three great-great-greats.
Her family will remember her strong faith, her kindness, her sweet smile and her beautiful penmanship on all those birthday cards and greetings...
A Visitation will be held on Oct. 29, 2025, at 2 p.m., located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 3 pm. A committal will take place on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., located at 265 Florida Chapel Rd., Round Top, at Florida Chapel Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
