PAT Learn and Play Rooms Open Until Deccember 10

The Parents as Teachers Learn and Play Rooms are available to all families of preschool children in the Schulenburg and Weimar school districts. Weimar holds sessions on Monday and Wednesday, while Schulenburg has sessions on Tuesday and Friday at the elementary campus from 9-11 a.m. This free learning opportunity is made possible by local organizational grants, along with support from the Stanzel Family Foundation, Inc.

Texas Ramp Project The Texas Ramp Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides free wheelchair ramps to lowincome older adults and people with disabilities identified by local health care providers. Ramps are built exclusively with volunteer labor, keeping costs to a minimum and are built without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, age, or gender.

Deadline Approaching for SBA Working Capital Loans Due to Adverse Weather Conditions

Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West reminded small nonfarm businesses in 61 Texas counties and a neighboring county in Oklahoma of the Dec. 23, deadline to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury. These low-interest loans are to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by winter storm, blizzard, snow, ice and high winds in the following primary counties that occurred Feb. 10-19.

Hostyn KJT Society No. 3 presented a Christmas donation to the AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange at the new location. This program helps provide food for the hungry in our local area and members of the Hostyn KJT also volunteer their time.
