Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Hosts Virtual Service, Seeks Musicians and New Worshippers

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church, due to ice weather and the safety of their members, did not meet in person on the last Sunday of January, but instead meet via the internet and broadcast their service on Facebook on their page. Anyone interested in just checking them out online should be sure to go and check out their Facebook page and see the rebroadcast of the message and maybe check out prior week’s services.

Rotary Club Supports Red Door Day Mental Health Effort in Fayette County

Thursday, Feb. 12, is Red Door Day for mental health in Fayette County. Yard signs will be seen throughout the county promoting Red Door Day, a movement dedicated to normalizing conversations about mental health across rural communities. The La Grange Rotary Club has donated $1,000 to the Greater Fayette County Community Foundation's Red Door Fund to help with the effort. The foundation's Ashley Parks shows the check she received from the club. County Appears to be in Best Financial Shape in a Long Time

Fayette County Commissioners Court heard a report from outside auditor Greg Trlicek on the County’s 2024 Financial Audit. Trlicek gave the County an unqualified, unmodified opinion, on the state of the County’s financial affairs, which he described as a “clean opinion or best opinion that you can get.” He said the County had a general fund balance of $7,195,028 at the end of 2024, of which $5,762,571 was unassigned or unreserved.
