Sacred Heart Altar Society Meets Feb. 7

The Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on Monday, Feb. 7 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Parish Center. The meeting was opened with a prayer followed by the standard reports by the secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer. Sixteen ladies attended the meeting.

LG Career Fair Set April 14

The City of La Grange’s Office of Community Development is partnering with Workforce Solutions - Rural Capital Area to host the La Grange Career Fair on Thursday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Historic Casino Hall, 254 N. Jefferson St. The Career Fair is free for everyone who participates as an attendee or employer.

LHS Again a Target of Social Media Threat

La Grange High School asked students to leave bags and purses at home until further notice in response to a threat made on social media Wednesday. La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said a parent called police around midnight to report a threat that her child saw on the social media platform Snapchat.

Last Friday La Grange High School hosted their district oneact play competition. La Grange’s play, Alfred Uhry’s “The Last Night of Ballyhoo” was one of three plays selected to advance to Bi-District that will be held here in La Grange on March 21-22.

Election Day Ticket Adds to Co. Judge Campaign Intrigue

Fayette County Judge candidate Craig Moreau received a class C misdemeanor ticket on Wednesday, March 9, for being unlawfully present at a polling location. The incident allegedly happened on Election Day, March 1, at the La Grange East polling location inside La Grange Church of Christ on Old Ellinger Road.

Upcoming Election Dates and Information

The Republican and Democratic primary runoff elections take place Tuesday, May 24. State election law requires those who voted in the Republican or Democratic primaries on March 1 to stick with the same party in the runoff election.
