The City of La Grange’s Office of Community Development is proud to announce that La Grange Motor Company located at 125 S. Main St. is the most recent recipient of a Facade Grant. Sacred Heart Altar Society Meets

The Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on Monday, March 7, in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Parish Center. The meeting was opened with a prayer followed by the standard reports by the secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer. Thirteen ladies attended the meeting.

Faith Lutheran High School will host its Annual Good Friday Bake Sale on Friday April 15 at the Classic Bank parking lot in Giddings. Cookies, pies, cakes, kolaches, cinnamon rolls, homemade noodles, homemade breads and more will be available from 8 a.m. till noon, or until sold out.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Fayette County Commissioners signed a proclamation designating April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The proclamation stated there were 175 cases of child abuse reported in Fayette County in 2021, and investigations revealed 59 child victims of abuse last year. On hand for the signing were Mary Fox and Jacelyn Perez of the Children’s Advocacy Center. Ken Taylor Running for LG City Council

My name is Ken Taylor and I am running for La Grange City Council, Ward 2. My wife, Debbie and I have lived in La Grange since 1978 and raised our boys here. I retired as Generation Manager for LCRA in 2011 after 33 years of service. After my retirement I volunteered my time and experience to the construction of the new La Grange ISD stadium bleacher upgrade. I also gave my time to managing the construction of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church atrium.

April Designated Autism Acceptance Month

Fayette County Commissioners signed a proclamation designating April as Autism Acceptance Month in Fayette County. The proclamation recognized the Turtle Wing Foundation for its work to educate not only youth living with various challenges including autism, but also the community in which these young people live. Fayetteville Asks for Help to Buy Generator

The City of Fayetteville requested help from the County to pay for generator equipment for the town’s water system. The State of Texas has required all public water utilities in the state to develop emergency plans in response to last year’s historic winter storm.
