With Local Support, Girl Scouts Have a Great Spring Break

The area’s Girl Scouts and their leaders appreciate Fayette County for its support during their recent cookie sale, especially Walmart in La Grange and Hruskas’ in Ellinger for hosting cookie booths on each weekend of the sale. The Farmers’ Market on the Courthouse Square was a new venue this year to watch for in the future. Troop 32077 of La Grange used cookie earnings to travel to the Waco area over spring break to enjoy the Safari Park Wildlife Center, Dinosaur Valley State Park, the Cameron Park Zoo, and the Dr. Pepper Museum. Troop members also earned their way to sessions at Girl Scout camps in the summer. The Scouts voted to donate unsold cookies to AMEN Food Pantry and to the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter, where they will be given in appreciation to those who adopt a pet. Troop 32077 is led by Rebecca Hegar, Anna Hegar, and Christine Norwood.
