Girls Scout Get a Surprise Visitor

Girl Scouts from La Grange Troop 32077 got a nice surprise during their cookie booth at Hruska’s in Ellinger on January 31st. A Board Member from Girl Scouts of Central Texas, Socar Chatmon-Thomas, center, stopped by as a Secret Shopper to interview the girls about their cookie selling goals and plans. Each Scout will receive a free case of cookies and a special patch. You can support all of the Fayette County Girl Scouts in their sales this month. Cadette Troop 32077 is led by Rebecca Hegar, Christine Norwood, and Anna Hegar.

LGISD to Consider Bond Election for Facilities Upgrades

The La Grange ISD board of trustees has called a special meeting Monday Feb. 9 with one item on the business agenda “Consideration and Possible Approval of an Order Calling a Bond Election on May 2, 2026” ..... among the projects that have been discussed as part of a possible bond are renovations of the 1923 Old High School Building (it’s been mostly unused for years) as well as other school purchases and facility renovations.

LHS Student’s Documentary Advances to State Semis

La Grange High School junior Jackson Elliott has made a documentary that has advanced to the state semifinals of the UIL film competition. Elliott’s documentary that focuses on Lorenza Crosby, a longtime resident of Fayette County.
