Senior Connections Chosen as Amazon Non-Profit of Month

Senior Connections is your go-to gathering place for active seniors, conveniently located at 1111 Bohlmann Ave. in Schulenburg, the First United Methodist Church at 301 W. Saint Charles St. in Weimar, and Flatonia at 403 E. North Main St. Doors open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. offering a warm atmosphere filled with fellowship and fun.

Each day starts with hot coffee and a friendly greeting from our dedicated volunteers. Engage in board games like Sequence and Dominoes, or enjoy card games such as Torok while conversing over your favorite brew. Our daily schedule includes a homecooked, nutritious meal and wraps up with everyone’s favorite bingo.

Join Senior Connections on Tuesday, April 7 in Weimar at First United Methodist Church. Lunch includes a delicious lasagna by Amanda Kridel, accompanied by garlic bread, house salad, and member desserts. Brenda Anderson from Colorado County AgriLife will share tips on shopping for healthy, budgetfriendly groceries. Bingo will be hosted by Alyssa from First Texas Home Health.

We’re back in Schuleburg on Wednesday, April 8. Early meal service, arrive by 10-11 a.m. for fried fish, puppies, coleslaw, and mac and cheese from Oak Ridge Smokehouse, always a crowd favorite. Join Chyla from Wellsential for a lively game of bingo.

Join Artful Friday on April 10. Morning session will be from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Continue with art classes floral arranging with Cheryl Thomas and unique painting techniques with Jaime Janda that don’t require brushes.

Stay until 2:30 p.m. to work on any projects during Open Studio.

On April 12, we will enjoy an adventure to Polka Day in Fayetteville. While the sign-up deadline has passed, we will be carpooling. Let us know if you can carry other passengers. It’s sure to be a delightful adventure beginning at Ellinger’s St. Mary’s Church, followed by lunch at Orsak’s Restaurant, and then live music from board member Ruben Rodriguez and the Shiner Hobo Band at the new Fayetteville Community Center.
