The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a BBQ and the Episcopal Womens a bake sale Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10:30 a.m - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H-E-B. A half chicken $6 and sausage link $7 drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of the Turtle Wing Foundation.

‘Where is All This Money Going to Come From?’

In a meeting that lasted nearly three and a half hours several citizens and Council members Monday raised concerns about the rate at which the City has been spending money lately, especially on consultants, studies, and grant matching funds. Kicking off a meeting the City of La Grange and the groups that use the Fayette County Fairgrounds agreed to embark on a master plan for the Fairgrounds.

State Back in Court Soon Over No AC in Prisons

Texas will soon return to federal court to defend not providing air conditioning in many of its prisons, according to the Texas Standard. The plaintiffs include advocacy groups and incarcerated individuals, who claim that the heat levels in un-air-conditioned prisons constitute cruel and unusual punishment.
