Round Top Young Farmers Family Night July 21

Round Top Young Farmers Family Night is scheduled for Thursday, July 21. All members and their families are invited to enjoy a catered chicken fried steak meal at a cost of $5 per person. The social hour will start at 6:30 p.m. and the meal will be served at 7:30 p.m. Anyone can bring snacks or dessert. A silent auction will be held for the scholarship program. Anyone wishing to donate auction items please bring them. Annual dues will be accepted at the meeting.

New Bible Study Begins Aug. 24 at Holy Cross

A new Bible Study will begin Aug. 24 at Holy Cross Lutheran in Warda. This will cover the entire book of Joshua, providing details of what happened to Israel after their 40 years of wandering in the desert when God finally let them enter and take possession of the Promised Land. The Bible study will meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com. There is no charge to attend, but registration is recommended to make sure there are enough materials for everyone.

Wireless Utility Meters Coming to City of LG

Monday, the La Grange City Council voted to purchase a new advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system for the City’s electric and water utilities. The AMI system will replace the City’s current meter-reading system, which involves City workers manually reading each electric and water meter with a handheld wand. The AMI system will link water and electric meters with the utility billing department at City Hall through a wireless network.

Lafayette Lodge Installs New Officers

Marburger. The installation ceremony was performed by Boman Hoffman and Ken Sherman. Many family members and friends attended and assisted in the installation ceremony.

Brush Fire Sunday in Muldoon

On Sunday, July 10, at 3:53 p.m., Muldoon Fire Department took a call reporting a large brush fire on Three Mile Rd. The first firefighters to respond protected a nearby home until other units could arrive.

Animal Shelter Weekly Update

As of July 8, the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter has 117 animals in care: 51 dogs/66 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner. Total intake for 2022 is 317 dogs and 397 cats in need.
