Body Found in LG Identified as Brittany Low

The Fayette County Record The woman found dead at the end of Lowerline St. in La Grange on Sunday, July 31, was Brittany Low, a 34-year-old woman who had gone missingseveral days before.La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said a City of La Grange worker discovered herbody at the City sewer plant Sunday morning.

Lady Horns Were Classroom Stars in 2021-22

The Schulenburg Lady Horn Volleyball Team is proud to announce that they are a recipient of the 2021-2022 United States Marine Corps - American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic Award. It is the 9th consecutive year that the Lady Horns have received the award.

Local Students Travel to DC, New York

On June 13, 40 people sporting La Grange Leopards t-shirts stepped off of a tour bus into the middle of Washington DC, ready to explore the city and then adventure into the Big Apple. Melody McKee, teacher at La Grange Middle School, recently led her third summer tour group through EF Tours.

KC Council No. 3168 Installs New Officers

Knights of Columbus Council No. 3168 installed officers for the 2022-2023 year on Monday, July 25. The installation was at the Parish Hall at St. John Catholic Church in Fayetteville. District Deputy Darris Chapel performed the installation ceremony. Chaplin Father Steve Sauser started with a prayer. Former officers and the present officers were thanked for their time and effort put into continuing the charitable efforts of the Knights of Columbus. The ceremony was preceded by a meal which was attended by both members, spouses and guests. Animal Shelter Has Over 100 Animals In Care

As of July 22, the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter has 126 animals in care: 56 dogs/70 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

RNNG to Discuss Building Healthier Communities through a Coordinated Care Network August 10

The Rural Non-Profit Networking Group (RNNG) is an opportunity for the organizations that do so much good in our rural communities to share their missions and visions, discuss community needs and partnership opportunities, bring in experts to facilitate growth and professionalism, and simply connect to maximize the efficiency and impact that participants can bring to Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, and surrounding counties. Since reactivating post-pandemic shutdown, the group is more energized than ever, back to meeting monthly, and incorporating an educational aspect into each gathering.
